F.A.Q

What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are cosmetic applications that enhance the length, curl, fullness, and thickness of natural eyelashes. Eyelash extensions are so great – they make your eyes more prominent, open, noticeable, and it seems like a full makeup look is incomplete without false lashes, and in this case, lash extensions. The extensions may be made from synthetic, mink, faux mink, or silk fibers. The main method of applying the extensions is by using a semi-permanent glue to apply the extension(s) to the natural lash 1–2 mm from the base of the natural eyelash, They are applied to your original lashes using eyelash extension glue by certified professionals in classic, hybrid, volume, or mega volume types, never making contact with the eyelid, lengths and curls to match with your natural eyelash. False strip lashes are becoming a thing of the past. Eyelash extensions can last up to 4-6 weeks, they look more natural and you don’t have to take them off every night.

When it comes to lash extensions, there are a lot of options on the market. From classic lashes to mega volume, there’s something for everyone. But how do you know which type of lash is right for you? At Permanent Makeup by Thanya, we offer a wide variety of lash sets so that you can find the perfect look. We offer both natural and dramatic lash sets, and we offer customization so that you can get the ideal look for your eyes! Types Of Eyelash Extensions

Real Mink Eyelash Extensions

Real mink is a luxurious material that’s popular with celebrities. These lash extensions are made of real mink fur and have a natural, light, and airy look. The lightness makes this material last longer than synthetic materials.

However, real mink lashes are among the most expensive materials and they require regular curling since they don’t come curled. You can also run into irritation or redness if you’re allergic to animal fur.

Main Qualities of Mink Lash Extensions:

  • Expensive
  • Requires curling and some at-home maintenance
  • Light and natural
  • May lose curl when wet
  • Made of animal fur

For these and any other lashes made of animal fur, you should check if the fur is collected in a cruelty-free way. Not sure? We recommend going with synthetic and fake fur to be on the safe side.

Synthetic Silk Eyelash Extensions

Silk eyelash extensions are not made with real silk — they’re synthetic and use materials made from silk fiber. They’re considered a mid-weight extension and are thicker than other types.

These extensions work best for those with strong eyelashes because of the added weight. Synthetic silk lash extensions still look natural, but appear bolder than other types.

Main Qualities of Synthetic Silk Lash Extensions:

  • Thicker than other types
  • Holds a curl
  • Full appearance
  • Affordable
  • Dramatic

How to Prepare for Your Eyelash Extension Appointment

Eyelash extensions are a popular beauty treatment, If you want your extensions to look their best and last as long as possible, you need to take some time to prepare for the appointment. Here are six tips on how to get ready for your appointment.

By following these simple tips, you can ensure that your experience with eyelash extensions is as positive and comfortable as possible. Plus, it’s a great way to make your lash techproud!

Shower prior to your appointment
eliminating any unnecessary contact with water or steam within the first 24 hours will insure that the bond between the semi permanent lashes and your natural lashes has enough time to properly set.

Clean Eyelashes
In order to get the most out of your lash extension service, arrive with clean lashes. It’s important to avoid using oil-based products around your eyes and no mascara before the appointment. Residual oils and makeup will only prevent the adhesive from properly bonding, resulting in poor retention. Oil can cause the adhesive to break down, making it difficult for the lashes to stay in place. It will decrease your retention dramatically, which will result in you needing more frequent fills.

Curl your lashes on the day of your lash application
we need your eyelashes to be in the most natural and healthy state they can prior to your lash extension application. please do not curl your eyelashes, or use any other manipulation on them the day of your appointment.

Dress Comfortably
One of the biggest tips we can give you is to dress comfortably for your eyelash appointment. Keep in mind, based on the type of set you booked for, you’ll be spending at least an hour lying down, so it’s important to comfortable. Comfortable clothing will help you relax and enjoy the time being pampered.

Remove your contacts
The glue is fumey and if fumes get trapped under your contacts it can cause a bit of discomfort during your appointment. To avoid any discomfort, it is always suggested that contacts are removed allowing eyes to be comfortable in a natural and rested state.

Arrive a Little Early
Clients are always advised to come in a little early to their eyelash extension appointment. This gives you time to fill out any paperwork and also gives your lash tech a chance to answer any questions you may have. It also means that they can start your treatment on time or sometimes even a bit early, without having to rush.

We know that your time is precious, and we want to make sure that you get the most out of your appointment. So please make sure to arrive a few minutes early, so that your lash tech can give you the best possible service.
